Hamodi Al Mahdi Digital Gay Illustrations
Hamodi Al Mahdi is an Israeli gay artist we are extremely proud to have. His work is mainly self portraits made digitally, telling his life story and experiences.
In his own words:
"My relationship with painting is of a true friendship. A friendship in which I can be myself, without wearing masks and being restrained. My name is Hamodi, I was born to a conservative family in a small village in the Galilee (north of Israel) where I grew up in nature among pine trees and fields of wheat.
My journey through my colorful world began at age 13 when my family relocated to Tel Aviv. At that age I did not have many friends and my art, self-taught through countless days of experimentation with oil, water, acrylic and coal was my escape and my (only) best friend. My more recent work is the fruit of my discovery of computer illustration, which has transformed my art into a form of self-expression and a mean of telling my inner-story to the world."
