Avishai Levy Israeli Male Nude Drawings
Avishai Levy is a painter and a sculptor whose work centers around the male figure and the exploration of masculinity, sexuality, eroticism, and power dynamics between men. He primarily works with graphite, ink, and watercolors to create expressive pieces that capture the essence of being male in the modern world.
His work is characterized by its unique blend of realism and stylization, with quick sketches that capture a moment in time. Born in Jerusalem in the 80s, Avishai grew up in a religious family and completed his religious education before serving in a combat unit while in the closet. After finishing his army duties, he came out of the closet and then pursued his passion for art. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the prestigious Bezalel Academy of Arts in Jerusalem.
Avishai's art has been showcased in several exhibitions throughout Israel, including at Design Week in Jerusalem and Illustration Week in Tel Aviv. He has also curated and participated in the "Tiger in Tel-Aviv" exhibition at Beit Ariela in Tel-Aviv. Avishai lives in Tel Aviv with his partner, where he creates visually pleasing yet provoking art. His pieces challenge traditional notions of Israeli masculinity and sexuality.
